Tastebuds is owned and operated by Melvin and Helen Simmons, both San Francisco natives, who still live and raise their family in SF.  Melvin's entrepreneurial background and Helen's restaurant experience came together to create this all day cafe with great food, energy and music.  The concept for the cafe is to create a space for all members of our community to gather, work, meet, eat and drink . . . whatever time of day or mood you might be in, Tastebuds is here for you! 

The menu at Tastebuds is soul food inspired.  Melvin's mother's family is from Louisiana and there are classic dishes available like chicken and waffles, shrimp and grits and red beans and rice and some contemporary items like an open face tuna sandwich and of course a fantastic burger.  The menu will develop as the business grows so stay tuned for updates and additions!
